The Sugar Hill School of the Arts (SHSA) provides a place where children, youth and adults can experience the arts in a positive, encouraging environment. We believe that by nurturing and training our God-given gifts and talents, we can fully enjoy them and be a blessing to others.

The goals of this outreach ministry of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church includes bringing excellent teachers and students of the arts together for development, learning, productions and great fun. SHSA seeks to walk hand in hand with the church’s mission, which is “To Know Christ and Make Christ Known in Today’s World.”

SHSA strives to provide instruction in the arts and opportunities for participation in various ways. The purpose being that each participant can develop their own God given talent and reach their full potential physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

Unique features of SHSA are the Christian environment, an extraordinary gathering of talents, an opportunity to learn and grow in the area of the arts and a close working relationship between participants of the school and the community at large. It is our desire to be a place where members of the community, both young and old, feel welcomed, at home and have a place to be a part of something exciting and challenging.

We offer group lessons for students of all ages in piano, guitar, dance, and spanish.  In addition, students can participate in art, karate, tumbling, cooking, and multiple robotics classes. Our group classes have a low student to teacher ratio so the students may receive individual attention and are an hour in length.
